Unfortunately Aggie has started losing some of the weight she had gained back initially (she was down to 5.89 lbs from her high of 6.17 lbs). It is incredibly hard to get her to eat and I am thinking she is nauseated as she is very excited for her food, but then just turns her head away when I put it in front of her.
I brought her into the vet for the first checkup since her official diagnosis of dry FIP on day #25. Her overall exam was really good, the vet was impressed with the changes to her eye and overall appearance and how her organs felt internally. They took some blood and sent out to run labs, I was very eager to get the results.
I got the results emailed the next day. There was some improvement in some areas (her potassium had normalized and she was no longer anemic) but not much change in others (her A/G ratio was still .30, that is what it was before she started GS). I was seeing a lot of red on that report, the vet was very happy with the results.
After talking it over with members from the GS Facebook group I decided it was time to increase her GS dose (this was kind of the plan when I first began, start at a 5mg dose and then if not seeing optimal results in the first month increase to 8mg) so I upped her dose on Day #25, I also started giving her Cerenia to help the nausea we were thinking she was having. We’ll see how it goes.
